Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a Team Member who is eager to proudly provide our customers with the top notch service that is synonymous with the Good Rebel brand, while maintaining and representing our exceptionally high standards.
Enthusiasm about grocery retail as well as a commitment to professionalism and extremely precise attention to detail are musts.
We serve a lot of wonderful customers and pack a lot of home delivery and pickup orders, so the ability to provide both excellent customer service as well as a 100% accurately picked grocery order are critical.
While this position has a lot in common with other grocery retail positions in that it is somewhat physically demanding, requires high emotional intelligence and exceptional attention to detail, it is unique because we are serving vegans and vegan-curious folks who rely on our Team Members to guide them with their shopping and meal planning.
The right candidate is a highly motivated self starter with incredibly strong attention to detail, are eager to learn, take direction and work hard, has a vast knowledge of the products we offer, and is extremely personable and attentive to the needs of our awesome customers.
The Team Member role involves:
- Shared-oversight and maintenance of the shop floor, stock room and commercial kitchen
o This includes:
- Serving and engaging with our amazing customers
- Receiving numerous deliveries of stock daily
- Daily quality control checks
- Restocking and merchandising the shop floor multiple times daily
- Food packaging in our commercial kitchen
- Precise inventory control
- Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining extremely strict hygiene standards
- Picking and preparing online orders for in-store pickup
- Packing and shipping online orders for our e-commerce branch
- Assisting customers by phone, email and in person with placing orders, order tracking, product questions, etc.
- Liaising with distributors, brand reps, and contractors
- Providing information and education about the Good Rebel brand and ethos
Very importantly, Team Members also provide top notch front-line customer service, engaging wholeheartedly with our terrific customers as a guide to the products we offer. Good Rebel is acclaimed as a superior and judgment-free resource for vegans and those interested in learning about vegan food, and we take our responsibility and opportunities to connect with our customers very seriously.
Valid food handlers certificate required/must be obtained prior to starting work.
Must be able to lift boxes of up to 25 lbs. and go up and down stairs frequently through the day, often carrying stock and pickup orders.
Experience and proven strength in some combination of retail, customer service and/or FOH food service is required.

This position is part-time (15-20 hours per week). Some weekday availability required.
Start Date: Late February/early March 2024
This position includes full health, dental, optical and drug coverage benefits for all qualifying Team Members.
Starting Wage: $16.50/hr + increase to $17 following probation
This position includes a staff discount.
